Cruise Indicator Not Operating Properly

  1. Cycle ignition from OFF to ON position. If CRUISE indicator light illuminates for about 4 seconds and then goes out, go to next step. If CRUISE indicator light does not illuminate for about 4 seconds and then go out, go to step  3 .
  2. Using scan tool, read ENGINE DTCs. If any PCM DTCs are present, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no PCM DTCs are present, test is complete.
  3. Using scan tool, read ENGINE DTCs. If any PCM DTCs are present, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no PCM DTCs are present, go to next step.
  4. Remove and inspect CRUISE bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, replace instrument printed circuit board.
