CMTC Test 5A - CMTC Mileage Inoperative Or Wrong

NOTE: Perform CMTC TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool, select ENGINE. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS TEST 10A  . If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read PCM trouble codes. If any related codes are present, see TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. If no codes are present, system is currently operating correctly.
