NOTE:
Perform INTERIOR LIGHTING TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
NOTE:
The following test procedure applies to either driver or passenger front door courtesy light system.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect courtesy light connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on courtesy light connector. If resistance is more than 40 ohms, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is 40 ohms or less, go to next step.
- Turn courtesy lights on. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Pink wire) on courtesy light connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace courtesy light. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Remove front door inner trim panel. Gain access to door module. Do not disconnect door module connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 11 (Pink wire) on door module connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Pink wire. If voltage is 10 volts or more, replace door module.
