Test NTC-4A: Checking Engine Vacuum
NOTE:
Normal vacuum reading will vary depending on altitude.
Connect a vacuum gauge to engine vacuum source. Start engine, and let it idle. Snap throttle open a few times. Observe vacuum gauge at idle. If vacuum gauge reading is not steady 13-22 in. Hg, perform TEST NTC-13A: CHECKING ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEMS (GASOLINE ENGINES) . If vacuum gauge reading is steady and within specification, engine vacuum is normal. Test passed.
