Interior Lighting Test 4A - Courtesy Lights Inoperative From Liftgate

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHTING TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM  and SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Close all doors. Open liftgate. Using scan tool, check status of liftgate ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 9A  . If scan tool displays LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect liftgate (cargo) courtesy light connector. If front courtesy lights illuminate, replace liftgate courtesy light assembly. If front courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 14-pin connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "C" (White/Light Green wire) on liftgate (cargo) light connector. If voltage is more than one volt, repair short in White/Light Green wire. If voltage is one volt or less, replace BCM.
