Test 12A - Controller Failure
NOTE:
Perform TEST 1A before proceeding.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) connector. CAB is located near air cleaner housing. Inspect connector for any damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST . If terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between ground, CAB connector ground terminals No. 8 and 24 (Black wires), and battery ground. If resistance is less than 10 ohms between all circuits, go to next step. If resistance is 10 ohms or more between any circuits, repair open ground circuit. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST .
- Turn ignition on. Turn all accessories on. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on CAB connector ground terminals No. 8 and No. 24. If voltage is more than one volt on either circuit, repair open ground circuit. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST . If voltage is one volt or less on both circuit, go to next step.
- Inspect vehicle for any accessories that have been installed. Inspect components for proper power and ground connections. Check antenna cable routing. Repair problems as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST . If no problems are found and repaired, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
