Power Lumbar Adjuster/Motor Test

  1. Operate power lumbar switch in both directions. If power lumbar fails to operate in only one direction, see POWER LUMBAR SWITCH TEST  . If power lumbar fails to operate in either direction, see CIRCUIT BREAKER TEST  . If circuit breaker fails, replace faulty circuit breaker. If circuit breaker passes test, go to next step.
  2. Remove power lumbar switch. See POWER LUMBAR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at connector terminal No. 3 (Red wire). If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Red wire to circuit breaker. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
  3. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and connector terminals No. 2 and 4 (Black wire). If no continuity exists, repair open Black wire to ground. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  4. Test power lumbar switch. See POWER LUMBAR SWITCH TEST  . If switch tests okay, replace faulty power lumbar adjuster/motor assembly.
