Test TC-188A - O/D Switch Low Rationality
NOTE:

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors. Inspect connectors and terminals for damage. Repair connectors and terminals as necessary and perform TEST VER-2A. If connectors and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of PCM Gray connector, Overdrive (O/D) off switch sense circuit (Orange/White wire). Press O/D off switch 2 or 3 times. If resistance changes while pressing button, replace PCM and perform TEST VER-2A . If resistance does not change, go to next step.
- Disconnect O/D switch connector. Inspect connector and terminals for damage. Repair connector and terminals as necessary and perform TEST VER-2A. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of O/D switch connector, O/D switch sense circuit (Orange/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in O/D switch sense circuit and perform TEST VER-2A. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of O/D switch sense circuit between PCM Gray connector and O/D switch connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open O/D switch sense circuit and perform TEST VER-2A . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace O/D switch and perform TEST VER-2A.
