Test 71A - Door Lock & Unlock Circuit From One Switch
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Remove appropriate door panel to gain access to inoperative door lock switch. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe door lock switch connector (Pink wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Backprobe door lock switch connector (Orange/Violet wire). Observe scan tool while pressing power door lock switch to LOCK position. If voltage is less than 10 volts when switch is pressed, replace defective door lock switch. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Backprobe door lock switch connector (Pink/Violet wire). Observe scan tool while pressing power door lock switch to LOCK position. If voltage is less than 10 volts when switch is pressed, replace defective door lock switch. If voltage is more than 10 volts when switch is depressed, repair open Pink/Violet wire and Orange/Violet wire.
