Test 26B - Shorted Left Door Ajar Circuit

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
  1. Ensure left front door is aligned properly. Align or adjust door as necessary. If door is aligned properly, disconnect left front door ajar switch connector. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read left front door switch status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR OPEN, replace left front door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Blue connector terminal No. 1 (Tan wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan wire.
