Test 26A - Open Left Door Ajar Circuit

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
  1. Disconnect left front door ajar switch connector. Check condition of connector and door ajar switch connector ground strap. Clean or repair connector and strap as necessary. If connector and strap are okay, go to next step.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between left door ajar switch connector (Tan wire) and chassis ground. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace left door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
  4. Connect a jumper wire between BCM Blue connector terminal No. 1 (Tan wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, repair open in Tan wire between BCM connector and left door ajar switch connector. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
