Test 23A - Inoperative Individual Courtesy Lamp

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.

If only rear overhead console lights are inoperative, go to step 5). Gain access to inoperative courtesy lamps. Remove and inspect inoperative bulbs. Replace any open bulbs. If bulbs are okay, go to next step.
Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on switched battery feed circuit (Pink/Light Blue wire) at each inoperative bulb. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink/Light Blue wire to bulb. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
Turn ignition off. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind left side knee panel. Disconnect BCM Blue connector. Go to next step.
Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of courtesy lamp control circuit (Yellow wire) between BCM Blue connector terminal No. 25 and inoperative courtesy lamp bulb connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Yellow wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, reconnect courtesy bulbs and BCM, then retest system.
Gain access to 2 overhead console lamps. Remove and inspect bulbs. Replace any open bulbs. If bulbs are okay, go to next step.
Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on switch output circuit (Gray wire) at each inoperative bulb. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Gray wire to bulb. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Yellow wire.
