Test 51A - Low Fuel Warning Lamp
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- If fuel gauge does not operate properly, go to TEST 44A . If fuel gauge operates properly, ensure fuel tank has more than 3 gallons of fuel and go to next step.
- If fuel lamp is on at all times, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind left side knee panel. If fuel lamp is not on at all times, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM connectors. Turn ignition on, engine off. If fuel lamp goes off, replace BCM. If fuel lamp stays on, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board.
