Test SC-1B - Checking Cruise Control Inputs

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug brake switch connector. Inspect connector and clean and repair as needed. Turn ignition on. Turn cruise control on. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, probe Yellow/Red wire at brake switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Yellow/Red wire between brake switch connector and cruise control servo connector.
  2. Turn ignition off. Using and external ohmmeter, measure resistance in Dark Blue/Red wire for Cherokee (Dark Blue/Tracer wire for Grand Cherokee) between brake switch connector and cruise control servo connector. If resistance is less than 5.0 ohms, replace brake switch. Perform TEST VER-4A  . If resistance is more than 5.0 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Red wire between brake switch connector and cruise control servo connector.
