Test 39B - Diagnosing No Chime With Key In Ignition
NOTE:

- Turn ignition off, but ensure key is in ignition. Open driver's door. If chime operates, system is operating properly at this time. If chime does not operate, go to next step.
- Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display LF DOOR AJAR:CLOSED, go to TEST 40A . If DRB displays LF DOOR AJAR:CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using DRB, read key-in ignition status. If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, go to step 5). If DRB displays KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using DRB, read ignition voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to TEST 38B . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace body control module. Perform TEST VER-1B .
- Disconnect key-in ignition switch connector (4-wire connector located at ignition). Connect a jumper wire between ignition switch sense circuit (Light Blue wire) and system ground (Black wire) at key-in ignition switch connector. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, replace ignition switch. Perform TEST VER-1B . If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between ignition switch sense circuit (Light Blue wire) and chassis ground. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, repair open in Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1B . If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, go to next step.
- Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind center console. Connect a jumper wire between key-in ignition switch sense circuit at Blue BCM connector terminal No. 4 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, repair open in Light Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1B . If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN:CLOSED, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B .
