Test 35A - Time Delay Will Not Turn On

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: This test is only for vehicles equipped with Compass/mini -trip computer.
  1. Turn ignition on. Turn low beam headlights on. If park lights and headlights do not operate properly by headlight switch, check headlight switch circuit and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If park lights and headlights operate properly, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Turn headlights off. If headlights remain on for 60 seconds and then go off, headlight time delay circuit is operational. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If headlights do not remain on for 60 seconds and then go off, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Natural Body Control Module (BCM) connector. BCM is located behind center console. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If connector is okay, go to next step.
  4. Connect a jumper wire between low beam relay control circuit (Orange/White wire) at Natural BCM connector terminal No. 15. Check headlights. If headlights are off, repair open Orange/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If headlights are on, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
