Test 24C - Diagnosing Wiper Park Switch

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Gain access to wiper motor connector. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, backprobe park switch sense circuit (Dark Green wire) at wiper motor connector. Go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on and wiper switch to LO position. If voltage does not pulsate during wiper operation, go to step 5). If voltage pulsates during wiper operation, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Disconnect Blue Body Control Module (BCM) connector. BCM is located behind center console. Go to next step.
  4. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of park switch sense circuit (Dark Green wire) between Blue BCM terminal No. 20 and wiper motor connector Dark Green wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Dark Green wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
  5. Turn wiper switch off. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Turn ignition on. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on fused ignition feed circuit (Dark Blue wire) at wiper motor connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Dark Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace wiper motor. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
