Test 10A - Faulty Gauge On Electro/Mech Instrument Cluster Id
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
article in this section.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- If all gauges are inoperative, go to TEST 12E - REPAIRING FAULTY . If one or more gauge is okay, actuate faulty gauge in Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) using DRB. This should actuate gauge from LO to HI, and then return it to its original position. If more than one gauge actuated, go to TEST 10B . If tested gauge did not actuate, go to TEST 10C .
- If tested gauge did actuate, stop faulty gauge actuation test. Identify faulty gauge and go to appropriate test. See FAULTY GAUGE TEST
table.FAULTY GAUGE TEST
Faulty Gauge Perform TEST Fuel Gauge TEST 45A Temperature Gauge TEST 6A - EIC Speedometer TEST 4B Oil Pressure Gauge TEST 46A Voltage Gauge TEST 14A - REPAIRING VOLTAGE Tachometer Gauge (1) (1) If tachometer is not functioning correctly, go to step 3). - Start engine. Using DRB, read engine RPM. If RPM is less than 400 RPM, refer to appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in this section. If RPM is more than 400 RPM, and tachometer head has not been replaced previously, replace tachometer head. Perform TEST VER-1B . If tachometer head is not damaged and has been replaced before, replace MIC printed circuit. Perform TEST VER-1B .
