SYMPTOM/CONDITION

The ABS light in the instrument panel comes on indicating a pump motor circuit fault. This is most likely to occur at temperatures above 90°F (32°C), after the vehicle has been turned off for a short period of time such as stopping to refuel. The light will come on after the vehicle is driven at speeds over eight miles per hour (during the system self check).

DIAGNOSIS

Perform all the checks in the appropriate ABS Diagnostic Manual for the pump motor circuit fault. If no system problems are found and the manual leads to the replacement of the ABS module, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

This bulletin involves replacing the ABS module with a module containing revised pump motor circuit logic.

Using the appropriate service procedures, replace the ABS module with P/N 56027560.
