Entering On-Board Diagnostics

NOTE: While using DRB scan tool, if an error is made or technician is unaware of correct procedures, enter "F1" (Help) or HOW TO USE DRB III from various menus.
  1. Before entering on-board diagnostics, see PRETEST INSPECTION  . Turn all accessories off. Turn ignition off. Attach appropriate 1994 cartridge to DRB. Connect DRB to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of dash. See Figure . Turn ignition on.
  2. Start engine (if possible). With foot on brake, move transmission shift lever through all positions, ending in Park (A/T) or Neutral (M/T). Turn A/C switch on and then off (if equipped).
  3. Turn engine off. Without starting engine again, turn ignition on. Enter selection No. 1, STAND ALONE DRB-III. Enter selection No. 1, CHRYSLER DOMESTIC. Enter selection No. 1, ENGINE. Proceed until READ DTCS selection is offered. After trouble codes are accessed, go to TEST 1A - IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS  to diagnose problem.
  4. To erase trouble codes while in this mode, press BACK key. At DRB display, scroll to YES - ERASE FAULTS. A confirmation message should then appear, FAULTS ERASED.
