Test 4A - Repairing Ignition Input Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

NOTE:
Perform TEST 1A
before proceeding with TEST 4A.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect VTA module. See Figure in TEST 1A and see VEHICLE THEFT ALARM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect connector, clean and repair as needed. Turn ignition to RUN position. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage at VTA module connector terminal No. 8 (White/Black wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace VTA module. Perform TEST VER-1 .
- Check fuse No. 21. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, with DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance at VTA module connector terminal No. 8 (White/Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace fuse. Perform TEST VER-1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in White/Black wire circuit. Replace fuse. Perform TEST VER-1 .
- If fuse No. 21 is okay, with DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage Dark Blue/Gray wire circuit at left side of fuse No. 21 receptacle. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Dark Blue/Gray wire circuit between fuse receptacle and ignition switch. Perform TEST VER-1 . If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open White/Black wire circuit between fuse receptacle and VTA module connector. Perform TEST VER-1 .
