Test NF-7B - Checking Idle Speed Motor Operation

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Turn engine off. Disconnect and inspect engine controller connector. Repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If connector is okay, go to next step.
  2. Using a DVOM, check continuity between idle speed motor connector terminal No. 1 and engine controller connector terminal No. 39, and motor connector terminal No. 2 and controller connector terminal No. 60.
  3. Also check continuity between idle speed motor connector terminal No. 3 and controller connector terminal No. 40, and motor connector terminal No. 4 and controller connector terminal No. 59.
  4. If resistance is less than 10 ohms for each circuit, replace engine controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If resistance is 10 ohms or more for any circuit, repair open wire in that circuit. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  .
