Test SP-11A, Checking BRAKELIGHT Switch Circuits For Open
- If DRB-II display shows RELEASED at all times, perform TEST SP-11B . If DRB-II does not show RELEASED at all times, disconnect brakelight switch connector. Inspect connector. If connector is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
- If connector is okay, connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (White/Pink wire) and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) at brakelight switch connector. Using DRB-II, read inputs monitor. if DRB-II display does not show RELEASED, go to step 4).
- If DRB-II display shows RELEASED, check brakelight switch adjustment. If brakelight switch is adjusted correctly, replace brakelight switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If brakelight switch is not adjusted correctly, adjust brakelight switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
- If DRB-II display does not show RELEASED in step 2), connect jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (White/Pink wire) at brakelight switch connector and ground. Using DRB-II, read inputs monitor.
- If DRB-II display shows RELEASED, repair open in Black wire. If DRB-II does not show RELEASED, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove jumper wire. Disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) connector. Inspect connector. If connector is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
- If connector is okay, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal No. 1 (White/Pink wire) at brakelight switch connector and terminal No. 29 (White/Pink wire) at SBEC connector. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair open in White/Pink wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace SBEC. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
