Test SP-2B, Code 34, Cruise Control Vacuum Solenoid Control Circuit
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect and inspect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) connector. If connector is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If connector is okay, turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Put cruise control ON/OFF switch in ON position. Place DRB-II in volt-meter mode. Probe terminal No. 33 (Tan/Red wire) at SBEC connector. If voltage is 10 volts or more, perform TEST SP-2C. If voltage is less than 10 volts, disconnect cruise control servo connector. Inspect connector.
- If connector is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If connector is okay, place DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe Tan/Red wire in servo connector. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If resistance is 10 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance at Tan/Red wire between terminal No. 33 at SBEC connector and terminal No. 4 at cruise control servo connector. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace cruise control servo. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Tan/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
