ISSUE

The customer has reported an alleged vehicle stall.

ACTION

The attached document should be completed and attached to an EPQR to report the issue.

Dealer actions: 

  1. : Down load all vehicle data. To include vehicle scan and trace.xml files prior to any work being carried out. 
  2. : Fill in the questionnaire below. It is important to get as much detail as possible from the driver while the event is still fresh in their memory. 
  3. : Retain any parts removed from the vehicle as they may be needed for supplier testing. 
QUESTIONS FOR CUSTOMER

When did the customer purchase the vehicle?  

Ask the customer to describe what happened. For example:

Was the car moving or stationary?  
If moving, what was the vehicle speed?  
Did the engine stop?  
If the engine stopped did it restart normally?  
How long after the event was it before the engine started again?  
If the engine did not stop did the engine speed (rpm) dip?  
Was the vehicle in restricted performance?  
What is the mileage?  
Has this happened before?  
When did it happen before (date and approximate mileage)?  
A description of that previous event from the customer.  

Information on arrival at dealership:

Mileage when recovered to the dealer:  
What fuel range is showing on trip computer?  
Is the low fuel light on?  
What warning messages were displayed?

Fuelling of the vehicle:

What fuel brand and grade was last added to the tank before the incident?  
Is this fuel brand/grade what the customer usually uses?  
What was the fuel level before the new fuel was added?  
What was the fuel level after the fuel was added?  
Does the customer usually use the same gas station?
