Issue:

Jaguar Cars are seeing warranty claims for damaged key remotes when they are stuck in the Starter Control Unit (SCU)

Action:

Please be aware, as from week 14 - 02/04/2012 all XF's and XK's will have passive entry enabled at the "health check process" within the Castle Bromwich manufacturing plant.

This will mean that the smart key will not have to be placed in the SCU to start the car. Please be aware that the transit relay is still fitted to the vehicle and if the car is not started within a short period upon entering the car then the transit relay will lock out.

If this should happen on a XK please refer to SSM42328 to resolve the issue.

If this should happen on a XF please release wait 10 seconds then replace the white connector on the transit relay which will then re-energise the transit relay enabling normal operation.
