SATELLITE RADIO SUBSCRIPTION PROCEDURE

Symptom 207000 Entertainment Systems

ISSUE

Customer difficulty in subscribing SDARS modules in USA.

CAUSE

Customer may incorrectly carry out the update procedure for SDARS subscription.

ACTION

Ensure that the vehicle is parked in an open space with a clear view of the sky and engine is on during the subscription procedure.

The default channel (Ch 184) should be displayed, showing the SiriusXM telephone number and the tuner ID number. There should be audio from the channel Call Sirius using the number displayed on the default channel and provide them with the tuner ID number as shown on the screen.

Content

Activation can take up to 15 minutes. Ensure that audio from the default channel is heard throughout the activation procedure. Once the process has begun, the display shall show the following:

• SDARS Home screen - 'Updating Channels' with a percentage status bar.
• Home View - 'Updating' in the Audio/Video window There shall be no audio during the update procedure. When the process has finished, audio shall return to Ch 184 and the user is able to tune to other channels, depending on subscription.

If the update fails, the display shall return to the default screen and user should contact Sirius again.
