SERVICE INFORMATION
Symptom 208000 Climate Control
ISSUE
Air Conditioning compressors premature failure due to incorrect run in procedure
CAUSE
Insufficient lubrication in early life
ACTION
The following 'Run in' procedure should be observed for any Air Conditioning compressors replaced in service conditions.
Charging of A/C system with R134a/R1234yf with the engine "OFF".
Compressor running operation should not occur until control step 5.
Content
- Key ignition on
- Ensure A/C is off
- Start engine and run for 5 minutes at idle
- Set A/C temperature to 22 deg,c fan blower speed 75% of max blower speed
- Switch on A/C
- Ensure all air ducts at dash board "OPEN".
- Run A/C system for minimum of 5 continuous minutes with the engine at idle
After 5 minutes compressor run in & oil distribution in the A/C system is finalised.
