DTC P0336: Crankshaft Position Sensor Range/Performance: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 19 other vehicles, including the 2003 Jaguar XKR, 2003 Jaguar XK8, 2003 Jaguar XJR, 2003 Jaguar XJ8, and 2002 Jaguar XKR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: The clearance between the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor and the reluctor ring should be checked at 90 degree intervals. The air gap between the 2 should be no greater than 0.18" (4.5 mm) at any point.
NOTE: After each repair, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES/ECM RESET PROCEDURE  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Turn ignition off and then on. Read DTCs to verify repair is complete. For DLC and ECM connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams and all other terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
