DTC Description Possible Source Action
P0706 Gear selector position plausibility fault
  • TCM/linear switch module CAN fault
  • Linear switch module failure
  • TCM/control valve failure
For TCM/linear switch module CAN fault, and module failure, Refer to Module Communications Network article. For transmission mechanical failure, Refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle article.
P0709 Gear selector intermediate position fault
  • Linear switch module failure
For linear switch module failure, Refer to Module Communications Network article.
P0860 Linear switch module CAN network malfunction
  • CAN open circuit fault
  • CAN short circuit fault
  • Linear switch module failure
For CAN circuit faults or linear switch module failure, Refer to Module Communications Network article.
P1516 Gear change P/N driving malfunction
  • ECM P/N circuit; short circuit to ground, short circuit to high voltage, high resistance
  • Gear selector cable adjustment incorrect
  • Linear switch module incorrect adjustment
  • Linear switch module/ECM CAN fault

P1517 Gear change P/N starting malfunction
  • ECM P/N circuit; short circuit to ground, short circuit to high voltage, high resistance
  • Gear selector cable adjustment incorrect
