Fuel Control (XJ6)

Injectors are usually pulsed twice per engine cycle, with one half of the fuel being injected every time the injector is pulsed. After-start enrichment is provided regardless of engine temperature. Injector pulse width is increased up to 3 pulses per engine cycle by ECU for enrichment after engine start-up.

Injection duration time after engine has been running is determined by ECU. Airflow meter and crankshaft sensor provides ECU with information on engine load (intake air) and engine speed. Information is used by ECU to access mapped data stored in 256 memory locations. These data contain injector pulse durations for 16 engine loads at 16 different speeds.
