Test Description
The numbers below refer to the step numbers in the diagnostic procedures.
- 3
This step determines if DTC P0201-P0206 is the result of a hard failure or an intermittent condition. - 5
A special fuel injector test connector is provided so that fuel injectors can be tested without the need to remove manifold. Test connector can be identified by the Blue connector lock which is tethered to wiring harness at front of left valve cover. If LED for cylinder No. 1 is "ON" steady before cranking and during cranking the engine, indicates fuel injector driver circuit is shorted to ground. If LED blinks while cranking engine, PCM and wiring to injectors are okay. Check fuel injectors using, FUEL INJECTOR COIL TEST under FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTS article. - 7
LED ON steady indicates voltage to fuel injector is okay, but driver circuit is grounded at all times. This step determines if circuit is shorted to ground, or PCM is faulty. - 9
Resistance reading should be 12-14 ohms. - 10
Locating open in fuel injector harness or suspect fuel injector, requires removing intake manifold.
