Circuit Description

The VSS circuit uses a hall effect switch to inform the PCM of vehicle speed.

Conditions required to set DTC are:

• Engine is running.
• ECT is above 140°F (60°C).
• Engine speed is between 1800-2500 RPM.
• Throttle angle is between 10-100 percent.
• Engine load is greater than 50 kPa.
• PCM detects no VSS signal for 125 seconds over a period of 25 seconds.
