Fuel-Cut (Slow-Cut) System

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Turn ignition off. Unplug throttle valve switch wire connector. Insert a fine wire into upper (idle) terminal. Reconnect throttle valve switch connector with fine wire partially pulled outward. See Fig 1 .
  2. Start engine, and operate it at 2000-2500 RPM. Connect battery voltage to fine wire installed on throttle valve switch. When battery voltage is applied, engine speed should decrease to about 1250 RPM. Engine surging may occur, which is normal during test procedure.
