Electronic Spark Timing (EST) (Impulse Non-Turbo & Stylus)

1. To check system operation, check timing at 1500 RPM with ALDL ungrounded. Locate ALDL connector.
2. ALDL is located behind right side of instrument panel. See Fig 1 .
3. Install jumper wire between terminals "A" and "C" of ALDL connector. See Fig 1 . Note timing at 1500 RPM. If timing changes, system is operating correctly.

NOTE: If a problem develops with EST, ECM will set Code 42. For additional testing procedures, see appropriate G - EFI TESTS W/ CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
