Work Procedure

Vehicle specifications are not yet written in a new air bag diagnosis sensor unit. It is therefore necessary to write then the specifications to the new unit and then perform "Re/programming, Configuration" with CONSULT.

1. SAVING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION 

   CONSULT Configuration: Read out the vehicle specification from the old air bag diagnosis sensor unit and save the vehicle specification to CONSULT. Refer to "ECU setting" in the "CONSULT Operation Manual".

   NOTE:

   • For the air bag diagnosis sensor unit, the Type ID is stored in CONSULT.
   • The Type ID is the part number (vehicle specification) that is to be written to the air bag diagnosis sensor unit.

   GO TO 2.

2. REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT 

   Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT : Removal and Installation .

   GO TO 3.

3. WRITING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION 

   CONSULT Configuration: Perform writing of the saved vehicle specification data according to the "ECU setting" procedure in the "CONSULT Operation Manual". Refer to Work Procedure .

   GO TO 4.

4. PERFORM ZERO POINT RESET 

   Perform zero point reset. Refer to Work Procedure .
