DTC Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK THE DTC
If P0102 and P0113 are detected at the same time, check power supply and ground circuit of the MAF sensor.
Is applicable DTC detected?
YES>>
Perform the diagnosis for power supply and ground circuit of the mass air flow sensor. GO TO 4.
NO>>
GO TO 2.
- CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR
- Disconnect mass air flow sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
- Connect mass air flow sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
- Perform DTC confirmation procedure or Confirmation Procedure .
Is DTC detected?
YES-1 (DTC P0102 is detected)>>
GO TO 3.
YES-2 (DTC P0103 is detected)>>
GO TO 4.
NO>>
INSPECTION END
- CHECK INTAKE SYSTEM
Check the following for connection.
- Air duct
- Vacuum hoses
- Intake air passage between air duct to intake manifold
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 4.
NO>>
Reconnect the parts.
- CHECK MAF SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
- Disconnect mass air flow (MAF) sensor harness connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between MAF sensor harness connector and ground.
MAF sensor Ground Voltage Connector Terminal F31 5 Ground Battery voltage
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 6.
NO>>
GO TO 5.
- DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART
Check the following.
- Harness for open or short between mass air flow sensor and ECM
- Harness for open or short between mass air flow sensor and IPDM E/R
- Loose or poor connection for each connector and harness
>>
Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK MAF SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- Check the continuity between MAF sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
MAF sensor ECM Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F31 4 F91 42 Existed - Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 7.
NO>>
Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK MAF SENSOR INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Check the continuity between MAF sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
MAF sensor ECM Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F31 3 F91 37 Existed - Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 8.
NO>>
Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- Check the continuity between MAF sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
- CHECK MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR
Refer to Component Inspection . Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 9.
NO>>
Replace mass air flow sensor or AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT : Exploded View .
- CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to Inspection .
