DESCRIPTION
The telematics system provides the vehicle owner with information and services that can be accessed in ease over a secure connection using the INFINITI InTouch Services APP (Apple/Android).
NOTE:
In order to use INFINITI InTouch Services; Vehicle Owners must subscribe to it separately.
- TCU (Telematics Communication Unit) equipped with a radio communication terminal communicates with the information center (INFINITI InTouch Services Data Center) via radio waves for receiving INFINITI InTouch Services
- Available services via the telematics system are defined as INFINITI InTouch Services.
- TCU integrates a wireless communication terminal and is connected to the telematics antenna that allows it to send/receives data with the INFINITI InTouch Services APP using packet communication *1 and SMS *2.NOTE:
- *1: Packet communication is the communication method that sends/receives data in a small packets with information. Divided data is referred to as a packet and the communication line can be efficiently used.
- *2: SMS stands for Short Message Service. It is also referred to as Text Messaging, Short Mail, etc. It is the service that performs text based message communication.
- The telematics system interacts with the INFINITI InTouch Connection Data Center using GPS and GSM/GPRS technologies. The TCU can send messages to and receive commands from the INFINITI InTouch Services Data Center. This allows the INFINITI InTouch Services Data Center to monitor the vehicle and obtain actual position coordinates and automatically detected events, as well as initiate certain services from outside the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle operator can initiate services from inside the vehicle.
- Telematics antenna, telematics switch and microphone are connected to the TCU via Hardware (Physical connection).
- The available services are: Information service, Infiniti Connection Response service, shortest route search, safety and security service, etc. In addition, can remote-control a vehicle than a cell phone using INFINITI InTouch Services.
NOTE:
For additional information on the Telematics system, refer to the NAVIGATION SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL.
- Join the Telematics service.
- Register the user ID and password in advance. (They are required for activation.)
- For activation operation. Refer to Work Procedure .
COMMUNICATION SIGNAL
- TCU is connected to the AV control unit via USB communication, and it sends/receives reception data of TCU and operation signals of the AV control unit.
- TCU is connected to each control unit via CAN communication, and it sends/receives vehicle information.
