Work Procedure

Description 

When replacing the TCU, the new TCU has not been written with the vehicle specifications, so it is necessary to write the vehicle specifications using CONSULT.

• Read (save) vehicle specifications using CONSULT before TCU replacement.
• Write the vehicle specifications using CONSULT after TCU replacement.

Before Replacement 

1. CHECKING PARTS NUMBER (1) 
   1. Search for the TCU of the corresponding vehicle using EPC (service parts catalog), and confirm the "Parts number".
   2. Print the "Parts number".

2. CHECKING PARTS NUMBER (2) 

   WITH CONSULT

   1. Select "Before Replace ECU" of "Read/Write Configuration".
   2. Check that "Parts number" is displayed on CONSULT.

   Is "Parts number" displayed?

   YES>>

   GO TO 3

   .

   NO>>

   WORK END (After replacing the TCU, write the vehicle specifications by "Manual Configuration").

3. VERIFYING PARTS NUMBER 

   WITH CONSULT Compare a "Parts number" displayed on the CONSULT screen with the one searched by using EPC (service parts catalog) to check that these "Parts number" agree with each other.

   NOTE: For the "Parts number" searched by using EPC (service parts catalog), use the last five digits of the "Parts number".

4. SAVING PARTS NUMBER 

   WITH CONSULT Save "Parts number" on CONSULT.

After Replacement 

1. CHECKING PARTS NUMBER 

   Check if "Parts number" is stored in CONSULT.

   Is "Parts number" stored in CONSULT '

   YES>>

   GO TO 2

   NO>>

   GO TO 3

2. WRITING (AUTOMATIC WRITING) 

   WITH CONSULT

   1. Select "After Replace ECU" of "Re/programming, Configuration" or that of "Read / Write Configuration".
   2. Select the "Parts number" agreeing with the one stored on CONSULT and the one searched by using EPC (service parts catalog) to write the "Parts number" into the TCU.

3. WRITING (MANUAL WRITING) 

   WITH CONSULT

   1. Select "Manual Configuration".
   2. Select the "Parts number" searched by using EPC (service parts catalog) to write the "Parts number" into the TCU.
      NOTE: For the "Parts number" searched by using EPC (service parts catalog), use the last five digits of the "Parts number".

4. VERIFYING PARTS NUMBER 

   WITH CONSULT Compare a "Parts number" displayed on the CONSULT screen with the one searched by using EPC (service parts catalog) to check that these "Parts number" agree with each other.

5. OPERATION CHECK 

   Confirm that each function controlled by TCU operates normally.
