DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC		CONSULT screen terms(Trouble diagnosis content)	DTC detection condition
P34AF	00	A camshaft posi actuator posi sens B1(A camshaft position actuator position sensor A circuit high Bank 1)	Diagnosis condition		Engine speed: 600 - 3, 000 rpm
			Signal (terminal)		Electric intake valve timing control position sensor signal
			Threshold		An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to the electric IVT control module
			Diagnosis delay time		1 second or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Harness or connectors [Electric intake valve timing (IVT) control actuator circuit is open or shorted.]
Electric IVT control actuator (position sensor)

FAIL-SAFE

Engine operating condition in fail-safe mode
Fail safe mode		Vehicle behavior
Device fix mode		This mode fixes the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position. The intake manifold runner control valve motor is turned OFF (intake manifold runner control valve opens).
Combustion control mode	Stratified charge combustion control at starting	No stratified charge combustion at starting (cold start).

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

GO TO 2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. Maintaining engine speed at more than 2000 rpm for at least 1 seconds.
2. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?

Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure .

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident .

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
