Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL

Turn ignition switch ON.

Check signal between power window sub-switch harness connector and ground with oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace power window sub-switch. Refer to Removal and Installation .

GO TO 2.

CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL CIRCUIT

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect power window sub-switch connector and power window motor (passenger side) connector.

Check continuity between power window sub-switch harness connector and power window motor (passenger side) harness connector.

Check continuity between power window sub-switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 1

Connect power window sub-switch connector.
Turn ignition switch ON.

Check voltage between power window motor (passenger side) harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 5.

GO TO 4.

CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 2

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect power window sub-switch connector.

Check continuity between power window sub-switch harness connector and power window motor (passenger side) harness connector.

Check continuity between power window sub-switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace power window sub-switch. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 1

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect power window sub-switch connector.

Check continuity between power window sub-switch harness connector and power window motor (passenger side) harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 6.

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 2

Connect power window sub-switch connector.

Check continuity between power window sub-switch connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace power window motor (passenger side). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Replace power window sub-switch. Refer to Removal and Installation .
