Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK GROUND CONNECTION
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check ground connection M95. Refer to Ground Inspection in "CIRCUIT INSPECTION ".

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: GO TO 2.

      NO: Repair or replace ground connection.

  2. CHECK MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
    1. Disconnect manifold pressure sensor harness connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check the voltage between manifold pressure sensor harness connector and ground.
      VOLTAGE REFERENCE CHART

      Manifold pressure sensor Ground Voltage
      Connector Terminal
      F65 1 Ground Approx. 5V
    4. Also check harness for short to ground and power.

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: GO TO 3.

      NO: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

  3. CHECK MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
    3. Check the continuity between manifold pressure sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
      CONTINUITY REFERENCE CHART

      F65 3 F111 70 Existed
    4. Also check harness for short to ground and power.

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: GO TO 4.

      NO: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

  4. CHECK MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
    1. Check the continuity between manifold pressure sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

      Manifold pressure sensor ECM Continuity

      F65 2 F111 69 Existed
    2. Also check harness for short to ground and power.

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: GO TO 5.

      NO: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

  5. CHECK MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR

    Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION ".

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO 6.

    NO: Replace manifold pressure sensor.

  6. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

    Refer to "INTERMITTENT INCIDENT ".

    INSPECTION END
