Possible Causes

Malfunction is detected when:

  1. ECM calculation function is malfunctioning.
  2. ECM EEPROM system is malfunctioning.
  3. ECM self shut-off system is malfunctioning.

Only possible cause is a faulty ECM. When malfunction "A" is detected, ECM will enter fail-safe mode. ECM stops electric throttle control actuation, and throttle valve is fixed at about 5 degrees. When accelerator pedal reaches a throttle opening of 30 degrees or more, throttle valve opens to a maximum of 20 degrees using accelerator cable.
