DTC Confirmation Test
NOTE:
If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, always turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting next test.
NOTE:
This test may be conducted with the drive wheels lifted in the shop or by driving vehicle. If a road test is expected to be easier, it is unnecessary to lift vehicle.
- Start engine (VDC switch off).
- Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool.
- Drive vehicle for at least 5 consecutive seconds at more than 19 MPH (30 km/h) with gear selector lever in appropriate position. If 1st trip DTC is not detected, go to next step. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- Drive vehicle for at least 5 consecutive seconds at more than 19 MPH (30 km/h) with selector lever in appropriate position. Depress brake pedal for more than 5 seconds so as not to go less than 19 MPH (30 km/h). If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
