DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

NOTE: If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Turn ignition on.
  2. Select P/N POSI SW in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Then, check P/N POSI SW signal. With selector lever in "N" or "P" position, signal should be on. With selector lever in any other position, signal should be off. If signal is as specified, go to next step. If signal is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
  3. Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Start engine and warm it to normal operating temperature. Maintain the following conditions for at least 60 consecutive seconds:
    • ENG SPEED: 1400-6375 RPM.
    • COOLAN TEMP/S: more than 158°F (70°C).
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 2.0-3.8 milliseconds.
    • VHCL SPEED SE: more than 40 MPH (64 km/h)
    • Selector lever: suitable position
  4. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
