DTC Confirmation Procedure

NOTE: Perform DTC WORK SUPPORT when the fuel level is between 1/4 and 3/4 full, and vehicle is placed on flat level surface. Always perform test at a temperature of 32-86°F (0-30°C). If DTC confirmation procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch to OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

Using CONSULT-II

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds.
  3. Turn ignition switch to ON position and select DATA MONITOR mode.
  4. Ensure that the following conditions are met.
    • COOLAN TEMP/S: 32-158°F (0-70°C).
    • INT/A TEMP SE: 32-86°F (0-30°C).
  5. Select EVAP SML LEAK P0442/P1442 of EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode. Follow the instructions displayed. See Fig 1.
  6. Ensure OK is displayed. If NG is displayed , go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

Using GST

  1. Start engine.
  2. Drive vehicle according to driving patterns. See DRIVING PATTERNS .
  3. Stop vehicle.
  4. Select MODE 1. If SRT of EVAP system is not set yet, go to next step. If SRT of EVAP system is set, the result will be OK.
  5. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds.
  6. Start engine. It is not necessary to cool engine down before driving.
  7. Drive vehicle again according to DRIVING PATTERN. See DRIVING PATTERNS .
  8. Stop vehicle.
  9. Select MODE 3. If DTC P0442 is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC P0441 is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  of DTC P0441: EVAP CONTROL SYSTEM INCORRECT PURGE FLOW. If DTC P0441 and P0442 are not displayed, go to next step.
  10. Select MODE 1. If SRT of EVAP system is set, the result will be OK. If SRT of EVAP system is not set, go to step  6.
