- Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit harness connectors. Check terminals for damage or loose connections. Reconnect ABS/TCS harness connector. Repeat ABS/TCS self-diagnostic procedure. While observing dash warning indicators, turn ignition on. If ABS and TCS OFF indicator lights illuminate during bulb check, system is okay. If ABS and TCS OFF indicator lights does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ABS/TCS control unit harness connector terminal No. 108 (Gray wire). See Figure . Turn ignition on. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fuse No. 31 (7.5-amp). If fuse is okay, repair power feed circuit from fuse No. 31 (7.5-amp) to ABS/TCS control unit.
- If SLIP indicator indicates ABS/TCS DTC 71 again, replace ABS/TCS control unit. If SLIP indicator indicates another ABS/TCS DTC is present, diagnose that code. If no ABS/TCS DTCs are present, repair is complete.
