Test 3: ASCD Steering Switch Check
- Check ASCD Steering Switch Circuit For ASCD Control Unit
Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ASCD control unit harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn ASCD switch on. Measure voltage between ground and specified ASCD control unit harness connector terminals. See ASCD STEERING SWITCH VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS table. See Figure . If voltage is as specified, ASCD steering switch is okay. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. - Check ASCD Steering Switch Power Supply
Press horn button. If horn operates, go to next step. If horn does not operate, Check for a faulty fuse No. 54 (10-amp), located in relay box in engine compartment. Also check for a faulty horn relay, or open/shorted condition between relay and fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . - Check ASCD Steering Switch
Disconnect ASCD steering switch harness connector. Check continuity between specified terminals. See Fig 1 . If continuity is not as specified, replace switch. If continuity is as specified, check for an open or short in harness between ASCD steering switch and ASCD control unit.
