DTC Confirmation Test (Overall Function Check)

Malfunction is detected when no EGR flow is detected when EGR is actuated by PCM. Raise drive wheels and support vehicle. Start engine (TCS switch in OFF position) and warm to normal operating temperature. Shift transmission into Drive. Check for EGR valve lift while increasing engine speed to 3000 RPM. EGR valve should move up and down without sticking. Measure voltage between ground and EGR Temperature Sensor (EGR-TS) harness connector White wire by backprobing. See Figure. Voltage should be less than 4.5 volts with engine idling. Turn ignition off. Disconnect EGR-TS and PCM harness connectors. See Figure. Check continuity of Black wire between EGR-TS harness connector and PCM harness connector terminal No. 129. See Figure. Continuity should exist. Check EGR-TS. See PROCEDURE .
