ESC Control Unit: Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Do not disassemble the ESC Control Unit (HECU). If the HECU is defective, replace it with a new one.
    • When replacing OTA controller, use the diagnostic device to update S/W. (If the S/W update is not complete, OTA update is not possible.)

      (Refer to Body (Interior/Exterior/Electrical) - "UPDATING USING DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE ")

  2. Fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and perform the brake bleeding procedure.

    (Refer to Brake System - "BRAKE BLEEDING PROCEDURES ")

  3. Fill the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")

    NOTE:
    • When changing the coolant and draining air, be sure to follow the filling instructions of the Integrated Thermal Management Module (ITM).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  5. Check the coolant quantity.
  6. Perform the diagnosis procedures with diagnostic tool.

    (Refer to ESC Control Unit - "ADJUSTMENT ")

  7. After replacing the ESC control unit, perform the "Assembly Check (ECU Replacement)  " of the additional function to check that the mounting is successful.
